Currently, we have a number of opportunities available within the business. Sarah Wood; Employee and Engagement manager, caught up with a handful of our current employees to find out what might be expected from the new individuals coming on board.

Firstly, she caught up with Jane Bean; Chief Risk Officer, to discuss the Head of Compliance role:

In this role you’ll be leading and developing a high-performance compliance team. This position offers you the opportunity to gain great exposure in stakeholder management, strategy planning and project management. The business is in period of rapid growth so the individual that joins us in this position will be instrumental in contributing towards our plans”.

Secondly, she spoke to Natalie Cooke; Underwriting team manager. With two underwriting roles available she offered an insight into what would be expected from the new team members.

The purpose of our business is to produce niche personal lines insurance products so naturally we need to be dynamic and reactive. We underwrite a vast number of schemes so the new employees can expect to have substantial amount of responsibility.

The team themselves are fantastic. We like to work collaboratively and in support of one another. No day is a dull day that’s for sure!”

Next, Sarah spoke to Penny Fullerton who heads up the Delegated Authority function at UK General:

“Our new DA Auditor will ensure that UK General and its clients trade in a consumer focused and compliant manner. As such the right candidate will need to be customer centric and ready to attend our client offices around the country and abroad.

They’ll have strong skills of relationship management and be able to translate FCA requirements and other regulatory legislation to work with our clients. It’s a great role for someone who has an eye for detail and relishes meeting and communicating with new people”

Finally, Sarah caught up with Emily Gates, Marketing manager about her expectations for the Marketing executive role.

The marketing executive role available is extremely exciting! We take great pride in being able to represent the company externally and we work very hard to deliver work to an exceptionally high standard – we’re an award-winning team after all!

They must not be afraid to get their hands dirty and get involved. We have some big ideas for 2018 so the person filling this role needs to be able to think creatively, work hard and thrive off a challenge!

Additionally, we recognise that employees work hard when they’re rewarded. We have an onsite gym, free car park and offer flexible working which are all things our staff love.
